2000 thru 2005 Ryan and his best friend Big Bad John Cottle Jr RIP boxed in local boxing and Toughman contest around North Carolina 

Ryan was giving the nickname name RHINO at age 18 by boxing coach Dick McDuffie 

2002 started American Kickboxing with top black belts of Bill Wallace and Joe Lewis karate -kickboxing fighters 

2025 Rhino earned 3rd degree black belt in American Kickboxing under Karate & Middle weight World Champion Ernest Dukes 34 wins 4 losses 

Started American NinJutsu in 2003 every Friday with my family those where the good days .

2005 Ryan started competing in open karate tournaments in empty hand kata , weapon kata , self defense Div , and karate point & continuous karate fighting and submission grappling Div . Well known for Karate fighter and fought his last fight in 2023 in a tag team karate match with his partner Heavyweight Big Jerry ( Ninja ) Dehart whom been Rhinos sparring partner since back in the Ninjutsu days in 2003 . Ryan's longest sparring partner and the two walked away with a 4ft thropy . Ryan earned 9 national karate wins and tri state champion of NC , SC , VA , and TN 

Ryan started arbitrating Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Gi and No GI submission grappling divisions in karate tournament from 2013 thru 2026 

2006 thru 2009 Ryan started competing in American Kickboxing and  went undefeated in light and middle weight . 

Started fighting in MuayThai in 2007 and fought for the NC state title .This my first title ever and I lost to split decision to Dominique Simmons of Fl . 

2008 Ryan fought Muay Thai for Master Paul Sum of Asheboro NC retiring MuayThai record of 3-3 

2007 IKF - PKB American Kickboxing Championship with Ryan's nephew Cody Ryan Campbell a 4th Dan Master  in Hapkido and 10 - 0 undefeated in Kickboxing and a tuff Karate fighter . 

2007 started learning Brazilian Jiu Jitsu under Wrestling Coach Felix Boggan a state champion and collegent wrestling champ and BJJ competitor .

2009 started MMA / BJJ at Evolution Fighting Academy. A school well known for cage fighting .

2011 joined Gracie Jiu Jitsu school thru 2012 

2012 to current Joined Kuro Bushi Martial Arts Organization under President Hanshi Ernest Dukes studying with the best in Jiu Jitsu , Karate , TaeKwonDo, and Kickboxing 

2014 Fought for my first Karate World Title and won bronze in BARE KNUCKLES KARATE @ Old School Karate Nationals under Hanshi E.Dukes and the 5A KBMA tournament & Organization. After participating in point karate fighting (skil) and winning the black belt division under 1A rated Sport Karate International League .( Ski) . Fight referee was Karate Grand Master Ricky Taylor . Whom told me that was my best fight he ever saw .

The winner RIP Hanshi James White of Lancaster SC and a 56 years of karate fighting verteran and this was his retirement fight . Second place was Kenpo Karate Donald Lethm , and Ryan Rhino Yarbrough. 

2014 I fought for my first Brazilian Jiu Jitsu world championship in the KBMA and placed silver to the champ Professor Trey Singleton team Josh Marshall of Goldsboro NC 

2015 Won Brazilian Jiu Jitsu World title championship of KBMA 

Team Rhino BJJ competitors at the 2015 BJJ and kickboxing championships and Karate tournament. The KBMA was the biggest tournament format in NC 2013 thru 2019 . 

2020 thru current Rhino started competing at NAGA BJJ tournament

Won BJJ title belt at Central Carolina BJJ championship 2024  no Gi and lost the Gi championship super fight .

In 2005 Ryan started teaching martial arts .

2017 Ryan earned a black belt in MooSul Kwan TangSooDo which we called Korean Taekwondo and added that to the Hapkido program .

Jujitsu focus on the ground fighting has the Hapkido focus on more standup striking.

Ryan had the honor of certifying HapkidoKa/ or Hapkidoist east to west coast .  From Mossuri , Kansas , Texas , Oregon , Wisconsin, Ohio , NC , SC , TN , Fl , NY , and Connecticut. 
Since 2005 Ryan has promoted a little over 50 black belts hands on ! Having top talented self defense martial artist come from all over the nation to train hands on with Ryan on the mat is the highest highlight of his career and truly a God answered prayer and blessing . Other than training together with the family !
