While teaching Japanese Ju-Jitsu & Hapkido classes in High Point at the Nautilus Gym on Lexington ave .  Rhino was first introduced to BJJ in 2007 - 2009 by his student Felix Boggan a high school wrestling coach , former collegent wrestling and BJJ competitor.

2009 to 2010 Rhino trained BJJ @ Evolution Fighting Academy 

2011 to 2012 Rhino trained at a Gracie Jiu Jitsu school 

From 2013 to current Rhino joined the Kuro Bushi Martial Arts Organization under President Ernest Dukes a group of MMA veterans. 
Rhino continued on his BJJ training with this group.

2024 - current Rhino started training with John Aistrop in BJJ 

2025 Rhino became a member of the World Martial Arts Federation on there 50th year anniversary under President Danny Lane
